When I went to AWP 2011 in DC, I stayed with my friend from college and his wife in their lovely Chevy Chase DC apartment. Omeed and Becca are foodies who made me delicious meals, took me out to Ethiopian food and introduced me to one of my favorite edible things on this big round earth: Ritter Sport with Hazelnuts. We ate these chocolate bars every night I stayed with them and it was awesome, although I can't say I know what makes it "sport."
I've always loved chocolate, but I'm (feel free to judge) the kind of chocolate-eater who thinks a plain old Hershey's with almonds bar is just as good, if not better, than any kind of expensive or European or imported or naked lady on a horse chocolate. That's until I tasted Ritter chocolate; once I started eating these perfectly square-shaped little bars, I was instantly converted to a German chocolate lover. As you can see, my personal favorite variety is milk chocolate with whole hazelnuts, but dark chocolate with hazelnuts is good too, and so is fruit and nut, and so is milk chocolate with almonds, and plain milk chocolate and plain dark chocolate. These Ritters are good frozen or melted or right out of the wrapper in the aisle at Walmart. Also available in bulk on Amazon!
